Organ donors

This article details a new feature on social networking site, Facebook, that allows people to label themselves as organ donors, or not.
I find this addition disturbing. Social media is a little odd anyway, how much we share and tell online isn't "normal" but this seems to be a whole new level.
I have a presence on Facebook and Twitter, and I have never once thought, I wish I knew if so&so was an organ donor.
It seems strange bringing such a personal value-related detail to Facebook. Most people post pictures and share funny stories and brag about marriages or babies. People don't use Facebook for such a thing. But I guess apparently I'm wrong, since someone thinks there is a market for providing this information.
I just cannot picture this:
Name Shanley
Age 25
Relationship status In a Relationship
Religion Spiritual, not religious
Hobbies Reading, writing, animal rescue
Job Coaching
Organ Donor Yes, eyes, heart, skin, lungs, kidney, brain...
