The marines have their own code of conduct, and it is very clear. They are not allowed to bash the president, pretty much in any public way. As the Commander-in-Chief, mr President is in fact the highest ranking boss of the US military. Many say when you are enlisted, the military owns you. You cannot leave whenever you want or because you disagree with your boss.
This is extreme but in terms of military life, it makes sense. It's necessary.
Unfortunately the marine in this article violated such things in a major way.
Is it right or wrong? I personally would never want such a committed, owned job, however I can avoid that by not enlisting. This man knew what he signed up for and needs to face the consequences.
